A former Coldwater Creek administrator who allegedly made off with Coldwater customers’ e-mail addresses and subsequently sent them spam e-mails has been ordered to stop by a Denver district court judge. Only problem is that the former Coldwater employee, Gerald Donaldson, didn’t show up for his Feb. 24 hearing and is missing, according to a report in the Rocky Mountain News.

Donaldson, who worked was hired by the women’s apparel cataloger/retailer in October 2001, was fired in April 2002 when the Sandpoint, ID-based company learned he had been arrested in a 1998 criminal case and plead guilty in April 2000 to first-degree forgery, the report says.

Customers complained to the cataloger that they were receiving spam e-mails warning that America “is headed down the path of slavery and communism,” the report says. Coldwater attorney Susan Jacks told Denver U.S. District Judge Wiley Daniel that the customers “don’t trust us anymore.” Calls to Coldwater Creek were not returned by press time.
